hello!

Faith and family, done in style. I hope you leave here more inspired than you came. Let’s connect!

Year 6 - “Yes, Lord.”

Year 6 - “Yes, Lord.”

There is something satisfying about seeing the fruits of your labor. Of course, the “labor” can look different depending on the person. For example, it can look like studying for years and finally getting that Master’s degree. It can look like saving a certain amount of money each month, and then buying your first home. It can look like going to therapy consistently and learning to let go of that “thing.” It can also look like praying for your son to start a relationship with Christ, and it happening.

For me, it has been saying, “yes” to the things of God — even at first, it didn’t make sense.

My top yeses:

  • Saying yes to blogging and sharing my life on social media, when I initially had no interest, which lead to fruitful connections and our own style business.

  • Saying yes to Germ when I doubted he was “the one,” which lead to a fulfillment and joy that I couldn’t even imagine as being a wife and mother.

  • Saying yes to church, when I was at the brink of quitting church, which lead to freedom from anxiety, me learning to forgive, and getting rid of bitterness and pride.

I wish I can say the “fruit” happened after my first yes. I also wish I can tell you it didn’t come with doubts or disappointments. But what I can tell you with every persistent yes, our maturity grew. We learned to be patient, we learned to trust in God, we grew in our skills, we remained humble, and we learned to empathize. By no means I am saying we have arrived, but we are at place of confidence and assurance that we didn’t have 6 years ago. And this confidence and assurance is key, because it will carry us through our toughest seasons. I am thankful, because this all began with our greatest yes, and that was saying “yes,” to Jesus.

My husband and I both grew up in a church. And even though we grew up in a church, we were doing things our way based on what we thought was best for us. We came to a place where we realize that “our way” wasn’t working. We started to say, “yes” to the the ways of God and it has lead us to clarity, direction, purpose and freedom.

We give Him all the glory! Where we are now, and where we are going, is all because of Him.
